Judging

Free parking, at the owner's risk. Booths and outdoor display spaces rent for $80 for the two days.

The Fair Book

Regulations

Attention is requested to the following rules, as they will be strictly enforced by the Directors.

  1. Every competitor must be a member of the Havelock Fair and must have an exhibitor number to participate. Membership is open to all: 13 and over is $15 per year; 12 and under is free to enter & exhibit.
  2. No exhibitor may submit more than one article per section, and no animal may participate in two classes — except for the “Herd and Sweepstakes” classes.
  3. All animals must have been bona fide property of the competitor and in their possession for 30 days previous to the show.
  4. To avoid confusion, horses and cattle must be tied up, and competitors should come provided with the means for doing so.
  5. Cattle will be judged in a ring, and competitors must provide the means for leading them around it. All other animals will be judged in pen.
  6. All fruits and vegetables must be grown by the competitor.
  7. No competitor shall be allowed to have their name or initials on anything exhibited; all so marked shall be set aside by the judges.
  8. No person shall remove any article or animal from the show buildings, premises or grounds before 4:00 p.m. on the second day of the fair, under penalty of the forfeiture of any prize obtained.
  9. All competitors are bound to comply with the Fair's rules and regulations.
  10. Every successful competitor shall pay their subscription for the following year; the subscription shall be deducted from their winnings and the balance of the prize money remitted to the winner.
  11. All registration forms are to be correctly completed and brought to the office before judging.
  12. Judging will begin at 11:00 a.m. sharp.
  13. All articles exhibited must be made by the competitor, or by the competitor under supervision, during the current year.
  14. All items will be categorized and prizes awarded according to the judges' decision. No fruit, vegetable or home production entries will be accepted if they are not part of the prize list.
  15. All protests must be handed to the secretary in writing before 4:00 p.m. on the day of the judgement or they will not be entertained, and must be accompanied by $10.00, which will be forfeited to the Fair if the protest is not proven. The directors may, however, of their own accord, investigate if they consider that there has been foul play, without being obliged to make the deposit of $10.00, and shall not be limited as to time.
  16. Any visitor who exhibits violent or aggressive behaviour shall be removed from the property and deprived of any prizes awarded, and may be suspended from again competing for such time as the Board of Directors may decide. There shall be no appeal from any decision of the board.
  17. Booths and display spaces shall be rented for a fee of $80.00 for the two days.

No dogs will be permitted on the fairgrounds.

There is no entry deadline

Entries are accepted right up to fair day — you can register online now, or complete your form and bring it to the office before judging begins at 11:00 a.m. Registering ahead of time simply means less to do on the morning.
